Trinity and Unity

The Trinity is commonly held by Christians as a sort of stumbling block which they either do not feel they can understand or do not feel can be understood at all. In a way this is true insomuch as it cannot be grasped intellectually and properly conveyed in any human language; this is precisely because in its true essence it is not only too subtle and nuanced, too grand and all encompassing in scope, but because of its higher spiritual or even super spiritual nature it lies beyond what experience itself can encapsulate. Yet, it is not so far beyond the realm of human experience that we cannot touch upon the tail of it. Indeed, to be properly Christian in any way that matters is to be wrapped up and swaddled by it as a babe in a warm blanket. The Trinity cannot FULLY be understood but there are some key points ABOUT the Trinity which can be understood, and ought to be understood by anyone who would embrace salvation.

Here is the crux of the matter, the world was made for and through the Christ and we can only enter heaven through him when we die to self in baptism and live in him, allowing him to live in us. The issue is this: What does any of that mean? Christ is the God-Man and the one who lived the sinless life that we should have lived and died the death we should have died. He…
